CNC Woodworking Machines: 2 Low-Loaders + 1 Truck from Germany
A Latvian furniture manufacturer purchased 2 heavy CNC woodworking machines and a set of accessories from a German manufacturer near Stuttgart. The main machines weighed 18 tons and 12 tons respectively - too heavy for standard trucks. We organized 2 low-loaders for the machines and 1 standard truck for tooling and spare parts, with crane unloading at the factory.
What happened
The CNC machines are precision equipment that cannot tolerate vibration or tilting. The 18-ton machine was 4.2 m wide on its base - just under oversized limits when loaded correctly. Delivery had to be coordinated with a 50-ton mobile crane rental at the Latvian factory.
What made it difficult
- 118-ton and 12-ton machines - low-loader transport required
- 2Precision equipment - no vibration, no tilting during transport
- 34.2 m base width - borderline oversized, careful loading essential
- 450-ton crane needed at destination - synchronized arrival required
How we handled it
We used air-ride low-loaders to minimize vibration for both machines. Loading was supervised by the German manufacturer's technicians who bolted the machines to custom transport frames. The 3rd truck carried all tooling, spare parts, and control panels in shock-absorbing packaging. Crane arrival at the Latvian factory was synchronized to meet the low-loaders. All equipment was installed the same day.
