Shockpad Delivery: 15 Containers from China to Latvia, Cyprus, and UAE
One factory in China. Three destinations on three continents. 15 containers of shockpad - the critical underlay that goes beneath artificial football turf. 8 containers to Latvia, 4 to Cyprus, 3 to UAE. Each destination has its own customs regime, port procedures, and last-mile requirements. We managed all three streams as a single coordinated project.
What happened
The football organization needed shockpad for pitch projects in three countries simultaneously. All 15 containers were loaded at the same Chinese factory over one week. But from there, each group had to follow a different logistics chain: Latvia via Riga port (EU customs), Cyprus via Limassol (EU but island), UAE via Jebel Ali (non-EU, different standards).
What made it difficult
- 115 containers from one factory - split to 3 different vessels/routes
- 2Three customs regimes: EU (Latvia), EU island (Cyprus), non-EU (UAE)
- 3Different documentation per destination - CE for EU, ESMA for UAE
- 4Arrival timing coordinated with pitch installation crews in each country
- 5Port handling in Limassol and Jebel Ali differs significantly from Riga
How we handled it
We split the 15 containers at the Chinese port onto three different vessel bookings. Documentation prepared in parallel for all three customs regimes. Latvia: standard EU import through Riga, trucked to warehouse. Cyprus: routed via transshipment hub, Limassol clearance with local agent. UAE: Jebel Ali with Dubai-based partner handling import permits. Each group arrived within its installation window. One project manager, three delivery streams, zero delays.
