Print Materials: Baltic Printing Houses to Montenegro
A marketing agency needed promotional materials - catalogs, brochures, and POS displays - printed in Baltic printing houses and delivered to Montenegro for a product launch. 2 full trucks, transit through 6 countries, customs entry into non-EU Montenegro.
What happened
Print materials collected from two printing houses - one in Riga, one in Kaunas. Consolidated on 2 trucks and driven through Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, and into Montenegro. Montenegro is not in the EU - full export/import customs procedures at the border.
What made it difficult
- 1Pickup from 2 locations (Riga + Kaunas) consolidated onto 2 trucks
- 23,000 km route through 6 countries
- 3Montenegro non-EU customs - export declaration + T1 transit + Montenegro import
- 4Paper is heavy - each truck near max weight capacity
- 5Product launch deadline - materials must arrive 2 days before event
How we handled it
Truck 1 loaded in Riga, drove to Kaunas for partial top-up at the second printing house. Truck 2 loaded fully in Kaunas. Both departed same evening. EU export declaration filed in Latvia, T1 transit document for the non-EU segment. At the Croatia-Montenegro border: T1 closed, Montenegro import declaration processed. Both trucks arrived in Podgorica 1 day ahead of the product launch deadline.
