Italian Marble to Dubai: 28 Containers, Door-to-Door Luxury Delivery
Our largest single-client project. A private residence in Dubai being finished with Italian marble - floors, walls, bathrooms, staircases. 28 sea containers from quarries across Carrara, Verona, and Sicily over 3 months. Plus air freight for urgent slabs needed ahead of schedule. Full door-to-door service: customs clearance in Dubai, warehousing, coordination with building management for delivery slots, floor-by-floor transport via service elevator, unpacking, positioning, and debris removal after each delivery.
The project
Marble is one of the most demanding cargoes: extremely heavy (a single slab can weigh 500+ kg), fragile (one crack makes it worthless), and every piece is custom-cut to fit a specific location in the residence. A damaged slab means a 6-week wait for a replacement from the Italian quarry. The building management in Dubai allowed deliveries only between 8 AM and 12 PM, and the service elevator had a 1-tonne capacity limit.

How we handled it
We established a dedicated marble logistics operation for this project. Containers shipped from Italian ports on a rolling schedule - 2-3 per week at peak. Dubai warehouse rented for staging and quality inspection before each delivery. Every slab photographed and inspected before leaving the warehouse. Delivery team with A-frame dollies and suction-cup lifters for floor-by-floor transport. Building management slots pre-booked weekly. After each delivery: unpacking, positioning per the architect's plan, all packaging removed, elevator and corridors cleaned. Urgent slabs flown by air freight Italy to Dubai (4 shipments over the project). Zero slabs damaged across all 28 containers.
