Beverages: 6 Temperature-Controlled Trucks from Netherlands
A Latvian beverage distributor needed 6 full truckloads of juices and soft drinks from Dutch producers for the summer season. July temperatures meant the cargo required temperature-controlled transport to prevent quality degradation. We delivered all 6 trucks over 10 days with continuous temperature monitoring.
What happened
Summer heatwave with temperatures above 35C across Central Europe. The beverages - especially fruit juices - are sensitive to heat and could spoil or lose quality if transported in standard curtainsider trucks. The distributor's warehouse had limited receiving capacity - maximum 2 trucks per day.
What made it difficult
- 1Summer heatwave - 35C+ temperatures across the route
- 2Juice and beverages require +15C to +25C during transport
- 3Warehouse receiving limit: 2 trucks per day maximum
- 4Heavy palletized cargo - 24 pallets per truck, near weight limit
How we handled it
We assigned reefer trucks set to +18C for all 6 shipments. Departure schedule was staggered - 2 trucks every 3 days to match the warehouse receiving capacity. Temperature data loggers were placed inside each truck and reports shared with the client upon delivery. All cargo arrived within specification.
